A movie 70 years in the making they say. Many tried. Many failed. But Mani succeeded. After a few attempts at least.  I'll start by saying, no, I have NOT read the book. But I've heard numerous people talk about it. Describe parts of it. Praise the creativity of the author. And listened to about 20 mins of a 1.5 hr summarised version of the books.  #PonniyinsSelvan The Movie is Mani Ratnam's version of Kalki's book. Don't expect a word to word representation of the book. That being said, the movie is MASSIVE! Casting is perfect. The list is too long to describe one by one. But everyone is on their A game. From the smallest character to the largest. Karthi plays his role well. Aish, Trisha, Vikram just take over the moment. That meeting scene of the two female leads is beautifully shot making the viewers try to decide who is going to win the contest. so its that time of the year where movies from India start bursting into the market... yes Diwali... the time when usually big time movies from india are released while a few less fortunate small timers also release... so among all the movies released for Diwali 2011, was Ra One... India's most expensive film after Endhiran which has a similar theme and was released almost a year ago during the same time... so after much hype about the film, the songs were release a month or so ago and as expected was a commercial success.. Chammak Challo by Akon was probably the best song... while a few more songs like Criminal and Dildara were my personal favourites.. and with that came the movie on Diwali day... although i did not have the privilege to watch it in a theater, i was able to grab a pretty decent rip of it off the internet coz i badly wanted to watch it.. and i should say, i wasnt disappointed at all.. it was a pretty decent movie.. although there were pre movie reviews an...

so its been quite a loooooong time since I blogged and so I decided to take some time off today and put something up.. well jst to say that yeah im still living... and yeah im still having a straight mind.. and to just put out some stuff that's been happening in my life.. well its been some hectic time during the past few weeks.. submissions, study sessions, exams and the list goes on and on and on... sigh.. surprised that I got thru all that and still standing straight with a clear mind.. with the end of the World Cup 2011 and the IPL also starting and taking up much precious "study time" of ordinary students that too came to and end jst to start the SL tour of england... and its been cricket.. cricket.. and cricket all along.. and simply love it.. and so wats happening with my education.. nothing much.. had some hectic weeks with back to back assignment submissions.. and then presentations... thank god it all went well... and all because i had a pretty awesome set...

ok so when i say Rio im pretty sure no one out there is gonna get the impression that im talking abt Rio de Janeiro where the FIFA World Cup is to be held in 2014 but im talking about the box office hit movie Rio!!! few days back i had the privilege of watching Rio... and what can i say.. it jst fulfilled my expectations for a good animated movie after a long time.. the graphics was awesome.. a nice storyline.. and the music just mind blowing... the comedy... the way the film has been made all just proves that animated movies can also do a good job.. basically the movie is about an endangered bird who is taken to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil to mate with the female of it and the adventures that the bird goes thru in the city of Rio... its amazing at certain times to see what love can do you see.. true love also exists in animals.. not only with humans this movie shows.. but we all know the bitter truth that true love is very rarely seen in humans these days compared to animals... wha...

முதல் நாள் முதல் ஷோ பார்த்தேன். எதிர்பார்பெய் மிஞ்சியது என சொல்ல கூடிய படம். வழக்கமான காதல் கதையானாலும் வித்தியாசமாக படம் எடுக்கப்பட்டிருப்பது ரொம்பவே நல்ல இருக்கு. மின்னலே, காக்க காக்க, வாரணம் ஆயிரம் போன்ற படங்களுக்கு பிறகு கௌதம் மேனன் படம் என்றாலே ஒரு வித்தியாசமும் எதிர்பார்ப்பும் இருக்கிறது. ஆஸ்கார் தமிழன் எ.ஆர்.ரஹ்மானின் இசை என்றாலே அது ஒரு இன்னொரு எதிர்பார்ப்பு ஏற்ற்படுத்துகிறது. இப்படி இருக்கையில் இவிருவரும் சேர்ந்த பொது அந்த பீலிங்கை சொல்ல வார்த்தைகளே இல்லை...  இப்படி இருக்கையில் பிரஸ்ட் டே பிரஸ்ட் ஷோ பார்த்த பொது, மனதில் ஒரு திருப்தி.. வாரணம் ஆயிரம் படத்துக்கு பிறகு ஒருன் நல்ல படம் பார்த்த எபக்ட். ஒளிப்பதிவாளர் கௌதம் மேனன் சொன்ன மாதிரி சிம்புவும் த்ரிஷாவும் காதலிப்பதை ஒளிந்திருந்து படம் பிடித்தது மாதிரியே இருக்கு. அவ்வளவு அழகாக படப்பிடிப்பு செய்யப்பட்டுள்ளது. லோகேசன்கல் சூப்பர்.  சிம்புவின் நண்பராக வருபவரும் சிம்புவும் சேர்ந்து இடை இடையே பண்ணுற சேட்டைகள் சிரிக்க வைக்கிறது..அதிலும் "உலகத்தில் எத்தனையோ பொண்ணுக இருக்க நான் ஏன் ஜெஸ்ஸிய மட்டும் காதலிக்கணும...

So..... After a long bus ride through the suburbs or Colombo from Maradana to Dehiwala (took da 176), finally reached home after an hour and 45mins. Now jst logged into the net and thought of posting this as i havnt posted n e thing for a long time uh!!! So back to the main topic. Obviously, by now you all must have heard and some even watched the movie called "2012". A movie that uses the Mayan Predictions and other predictions and theories about the 21st december 2012 doomsday to portray what exactly will happen, how the humans, specially the super powers in the world will react to this, and what will happen after the impact!!! Let me tell u this!! THIS IS ONE GOOD KICKASS MOVIE THAT YOU SHOULD NOT MISS TO WATCH AT ANY COST!!! well... well... well... from what i would say, this movie is a movie that i didnt find any mistake at all or any kind of stupid stuff!!! needless to say it would be a shame to compare this movie with the latest harry potter movie which in my pers...

i was just watching this documentary film on Nostradamus who is the famous astrologer who had predictions connected to many events that happened in the world such as WW1, WW2, 9/11 attacks, tsunamis, earthquakes and also the end of world.(more on this guy can be read at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nostradamus ). well this guy had been around for quite a lot of time but this documentary that I watched about him and one of his specific predictions which is the "End of the World" was quite interesting to watch and also makes ur hair on ur back stand straight while also making you think if those that he predicted will ever happen or is it just a joke!! i just watched this and just was amazed at how ppl interpret stuff!!. they film starts with the narrator saying abt the 21st of December 2012 never having a sunrise and etc etc. and then they show of a book called the " Lost Book ". this is a book that contains 7 illustrations drawn by Nostradamus to coincide with his pr...

well guys, 2 days back i watched this movie and here is my review and rating on this movie. first of all, i need to say that this movie was not upto what I expected. quite a lot of set backs. if you have already read the book then im sure you will be disappointed with the movie. and if you havnt read the book, then go ahead and watch it and you wont feel the difference. well to start with, the movie is pretty much boring the whole time. watch it for 30 mins max and u myt feel lyk it would have been better to watch transformers or ice age 3. although like in the other HP movies, the graphics are really good and u wont see a difference between graphics and real stuff. but the storyline is SHIT i would say. the movie looks lyk the script had been written after reading the adult version of the book rather than the normal one. more emphasis is given the affair between Ron and that other curly hair girl and also Hermione's feeling towards Ron and also of the affairs of Harry with Ginny a...
