Stupid Laws Around the world!

ok here we go... just went through some sites and found some laws of certain countries that are actually dumb...

below are the list of them n a comment of mine....


It is illegal to flush the toilet after 10pm. (Switzerland) - errr... so leave it to stink till the next day?? n wats da starting time??

If you forget you car-keys inside the car and you leave the car open, you will be punished.(Switzerland)  - errr???? 

While prostitution is legal, it is illegal to use the services of a prostitute. (Sweden) - ah??? 

Traffic police are required to report all bribes that they receive from motorists. (S.Korea) - lol..

It is illegal to pee in an elevator.(Singapore) - who in da world actually pee's in an elevator ??

With the exception of carrots, most goods may not be sold on Sunday. (UK) - so no business on Sunday eh?

A bed may not be hung out of a window.(UK) - what??

Bicycle riders may not lift either foot from the peddles, as it might result in a loss of control. (Mexico) - lol.. complete madness

A life sentence is 25 years. (Australia) - how does that become a life sentence???

Children may not purchase cigarettes, but they may smoke them. (Australia) - HOLY COW!!!

Taxi cabs are required to carry a bale of hay in the trunk. (Australia) - for wat??

Only licensed electricians may change a light bulb. (Australia) - a good place to be an electrician

When raining, a person may not water his/her lawn. (Canada) - who exactly does that???

The color of house and garage doors is regulated by city bylaws (a purple door get you a fine). (Canada) - i dont wanna live in this country....

To go to college you must be intelligent. (China) - wow.. what an intelligent decision..

When driving, you must have someone in front of your car with a flag to warn horse drawn carriages that a motorcar is coming. (Denmark) - god!!! where in the world do they get these ideas?

One may not be charged for food at an inn unless that person, by his or her own opinion, is “full”. (Denmark) - wow... one country to eat for free eh??

An ashtray is considered to be a deadly weapon. (France) - wow.. seriously??

A pillow can be considered a “passive” weapon. (Germany) - a pillow?? weapon??? damn...

Bicycles may not ridden without a license. (Israel) - a bicycle???

Taxi drivers must pay royalties if they play music in their cars for paying customers. (Finland) - gosh.. how boring it must be to ride on a taxi...

so dats it for now.. find n e thing interesting... let me know... will add it up...

When was the last time you went to a party/event and had a great time without having to pose with your friends for 10 different photographers?? When was the last time you went to a concert and was able to enjoy the show without your view being blocked by around 25 photographers?? Its obvious that Sri Lanka has gone through a "DSLR" boom and all the rich kids who used to own a decent digital camera now run around with a big ass camera of which they dont event know how to use 90% of the controls. And then there is the photography craze. Any event you go, there's at least 5 photographers from 5 different "online media" taking your pictures and publishing them god knows where. Seriously, WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED TO PRIVACY? Any event you go to now a days, you have photographers. Photographers trying to beat the other photographer in getting that special shot that would get people to come to "their" facebook page and click "like" on it.

11/11/2010 - The Day That Colombo Went Underwater!!

its been long since i wrote so decided to write something to write!! and indeed its a very interesting topic to write about!!! and as the title suggests im writing abt the day that Colombo, the Financial Capital of Sri Lanka was submerged in water after just 10 hrs of rain!!! what a day it was!! it all started on the 10th of November at around 8.00pm i guess when it started with a mild rain and then the thundering started.. along came the lightening also which is obvious (:P)... then the rain started to grow gradually... by around 11.00pm the thundering and lightening stops but not the rain which shows no signs of stopping... colombo goes to sleep... come next day and colombo wakes upto the news that Colombo has come to a half halt as many areas in Colombo have gone underwater due to the rain... roads all blocked.. schools closed after children come to skool in the morning for the term tests (term tests for public skools were to start on this day).. offices closed.. vehicles floating

2017 Sri Lankan Holidays - Google Calendar ICS File

Its nearly the end of 2016 and as usual I was trying to find the Sri Lankan Holidays calendar for 2017 to add to my work and personal calendars. But unfortunately, I couldnt find one. So, I decided to make one on my own. Thankfully, some good guy out there ( I really cant remember his name) made this calendar for a few years which I've been using so I just copied the old events to a new calendar and changed their dates according to the dates published on the holidays list by the Ministry of Public Administration and Home Affairs ( http://www.pubad.gov.lk/web/index.php?option=com_latestdocument&documenttype=8&lang=en ) So, here you go. Download the ICS file from the link below and just import it into your calendars add the holidays. The calendar is set to Sri Lanka as location and GMT 5:30+ as the time zone.
